1920's Goodyear "Supertwist Cord Carcass" stretch demonstrator
Rare original countertop demonstrator for Goodyear's "Supertwist Cord Carcass". This device has a pair of clamps to hold the ends of two competing sections of tire (cord). A worm-drive/crank lets you apply equal tension, and stretch them until they fail (up to four inches, measured out on the top). With regular cord alongside their "Supertwist" cord, this made a great visual for the superior durability of Goodyear's offering.
The top plate gives an explanation of the experiment, stating the Supertwist cord can stretch up to 61% farther.
Rubber edge gasket on base keeps it from sliding. Fully functional, and in amazing condition. No damage, and only very minor aesthetic wear. Bottom stamping states the device is property of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company Inc. (Patents Applied for).
    Approximate size:
19" long, 3-1/2" wide and 3-3/4" tall. Made in the USA.
