Two Fine manuscript Trust Ledgers For Mrs Robinia Crawfurd Pollok Forlong or Murray, relict of Thomas Hamilton Murray, Her Brother was General George James George Roche Forlong. the Ledgers Copys of Trust Deeds by Mrs General Gordon, Abstracts of accounts, Marriage settlements, Minutes of the Trustees, Trust Funds, Contract of Marriage between Mr & Mrs Furlong, discharge by the Reverend William Forlong etc. Book one covers 1847-1885 60 pages of entries, book 2 1813-1885 with 48 pages of entries.
Mr. Gordon Cuming d. in 1768, and was s. by his son, John-Gordox CUMING, of Pitlurg and Birnes, b. in 1761, who, inheriting in 1815 the estates of his relative. Skene, of Dyce, (eldest collateral branch of Skene, of Skene,) assumed the name of Skene, in conformity with a deed of entail. He entered the army in 1779, and eventually attained the rank of Lieut.-General. He m. Lucy, third dau. of Sir Hugh Crawford, Bart. of Jordan-hill, and had issue, Pitlurg d. in 1828, and was s. by his eldest son, WILLIAM Gordon-CUMING-SkeNE, Esq. of Pitlurg and Dyce, J.P. and D.L., and lieut.-colonel of the Aberdeen- shire militia, b. in 1786, who m. in 1825, Anne, youngest dau. of Alexander Brebner, Esq. of Learney, and had issue, John, his heir ; Alexander, b. 30 Nov. 1828 ; Christian ; and Lucan. Col. William Gordon entered the army at an early age, served several years with the 92nd, or Gordon Highlanders, and afterwards with the 6th regt. in France, the Peninsula, and on the staff in the West Indies. He d. 14 Jan, 1837, and was s. by his son, the present John GoRDoN-CUMING-SRENE, of Pitlurg.
